I just joined…I feel so helpless…I have a son who is 31 and following his fathers footsteps in the hell of addiction…..It feels like watching them run into traffic.
I wish there was more I could do.

I myself an addict being in a relationship with another still in the debpts of the “desease”
has pushes me over the edge now i feel responsible for all the problems.

Thank you very much for your newsletters. They helped me a lot to deal with my son. With the help of “Turn to Help.com my son is off of heroin for over 4 months and is doing well.

I probably should have posted something earlier but anyway, I’m here now. Just wanted to thank you for everything you have written. I noticed as I began to change my husband began to change. Through your newsletters I have become so much stronger and he sees this and has realized that I’m not going to put up with the “same old,same old” any longer. He has been sober for 3 months now!!!

I have been able to start enjoying life, even before he became sober because I now know that my happiness no longer depends on him not drinking.

Thank you a million times!!!! You are keeping me strong..

I think it is kind of strange that there are not more “let it out and let it go” posts…

Anyway, i’m married to an alcoholic and to make things even worse we own a business together, so i not only have to deal with the ciaos at home but i also have to deal with unbelievable abuse & trama at work.

I am physically, financially and mentally spent. I never beleived that stress could take such a toll on a person. I use to be a healthy, happy, positive and a sucessful person. Now i’m the opposite of the person i use to be. I’m behind on my house payments, i’ve got an unbelievable amount of credit card debt and thousands of dollars in medical expenses.

I’m so glad i found james’ site, because with his words and excercises i’m now able to make positive changes in my life. No one wants to start over, but as a friend told me recently, “freedom isn’t free”. I’m filing for bankruptcy and once that has been completed i am filing for a divorce.

I feel confident that i am making the right choices for me.
